Muscat: Omani student Umniya Khalil Ahmed Hilal al Khalili achieved the top score of 44 points, out of a maximum of 45, when the results of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme were announced here recently.
Umniya is among a tiny fraction (0.6 per cent) of IBDP students globally to have garnered this outstanding score in 2018. She is also the first Omani girl to have achieved this top score since the launch of the IB Diploma Programme in the Sultanate. Her performance earned her a seat at the prestigious Imperial College in London, where she will pursue her Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in Civil Engineering.
