Father, 6-year-old son drown in sea in Muscat

An Omani man died while trying to save his sons from being swept away by seawaves in the area of Barr Al Jissah, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has said. His six-year-old son too died in the incident.Their bodies have been found. His nine-year-old son, who survived the incident, is said to be in a critical condition. He has been shifted to a hospital, the ROP said. The ROP has urged all families not to leave children unattended near beaches and valleys, and not to venture into sea during strong currents. Meanwhile, people have commented about the lack of lifeguard boats and safety guidelines in and around Yeti and other beaches. There are no warning signs at several places, they said.
