Oman swimmers honoured for Asian Masters show

MUSCAT, Sept 17 - Oman Swimming Association (OSA) has honoured Oman swimmers Khalid al Kulaibi and Ayman al Kulaiby for their impressive results in the first edition of Asian Masters swimming tournament held in June in Japan. As many as 14 swimmers took part at the event and Khalid claimed a gold medal in 400 metres freestyle swimming and bronze medal for 200 metres in the same category. Ayman al Kulaibi grabbed three bronze medals in 50,100 metres backstroke and 200 metres in open style.


Taha al Kishry, Oman Swimming Association chairman, felicitated both swimmers in a glittering event in presence of board member and executive members of OSA. Al Kishry appreciated the efforts of the swimmers during their previous participation. He praised the swimmers excellent technical level and wished they continue to win more achievements. “This is an honouring event for our stars in swimming and appreciation to all their achievements in previous tournaments and championships. We are looking forward to see some new faces at junior level to continue Oman’s progress in swimming.”


“Currently, the OSA is working to prepare Essa al Adawi and Abdul Rahman al Kulaibi for the future. They had their last participation in Asian Games in Jakarta. That was a good exposure in their career. We have a plan to prepare them for Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024,” Al Kishry concluded.
