Oman Oil’s international drift event begins today

MUSCAT: Oman Oil Marketing Company will organise the first International Drift Championship to be held at the Muscat Arena from February 8. The competitive race will consist of three rounds, attracting over 18,000 drifting enthusiasts. Breaking into the very demanding world of motor sports, Oman Oil Marketing Company will showcase the durability, reliability and performance of its fuel, lubricants and greases under extreme conditions. The 2018 International Drift Championship will feature the top 24 international, local and regional professional drifting drivers, among them, none other than Japan’s Daigo Saito, the first driver to win two drifting majors in 2012 and Ireland’s own James Deane, Guinness World Record Holder for longest tandem drift of 28.52km. The championship’s first round will take place on February 8 and 9, while the second round will be held on February 15 and 16. The final round is set to commence on March 8 and 9. Tickets can be purchased at Oman Oil Marketing Company service stations in Qurum Heights, Bausher and Al Ghubrah starting from RO 1. The grandstand tickets are priced at RO 2, while the premium grandstand will be sold for RO 10.
