Oman journalists hold fourth forum in Duqm

DUQM: The 4th Reporter Forum began at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the Wilayat of Duqm on Monday under the auspices of Ali bin Khalfan al Jabri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Information.


The three-day forum is organised by the Omani Journalists Association (OJA), in cooperation with the Special Economic Zone Authority in Duqm (SEZAD).


The forum aims at highlighting the role being played by the correspondent in covering various events at the level of the wilayats of the Sultanate, as well as the achievements made in the country during the prosperous reign of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.


Awadh bin Said Baquwair, OJA Chairman, said that the forum gathers elite media men and reporters with the objective of pushing the journalistic message towards development.


Ismail bin Ahmed al Balushi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SEZAD, addressed the gathering by saying that your presence at the Special Economic Zone in Duqm (SEZD) provides the opportunity to closely familiarise with the zone that receives utmost attention by the government.


He praised efforts made by Omani reporters in highlighting the zone and its investment opportunities.


During the opening ceremony of the forum, presentations were screened on the zone’s investment opportunities and major projects being executed by the SEZAD, as well as the Duqm Port and its role in reinvigorating the economic sector in the Sultanate and developing trade and investment fields.


Programme of the forum includes visits to major economic landmarks and projects being set up at the
