MUSCAT: The ‘War Surgery’ Seminar, hosted by the Ministry  of Health, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) will start at Khoulah Hospital on Thursday. Over 60 surgeons and health professionals will take part at the seminar, which aims at training Omani surgeons on field surgeries during relief operations and enhancing their medical skills related to war injuries’  treatment and surgeries. The seminar aims at providing Omani surgeons with the necessary information on the treatment of those injured at war.

The lectures that will be given by a number of ICRC senior surgeons will cover a number of themes, such as the importance of surgery in general, the war surgery major, the activities of ICRC round the world. It should be noted that ICRC, which is subsidised by the Sultanate, funds the humanitarian relief aids in the brotherly Yemen since 2015. Throughout its logistics centre in Salalah, the Committee has managed to facilitate the transport of more than 11,000 tonnes of foodstuff to Yemen.
