NEW YORK: The Sultanate has been ranked fifth in the Arab world and 48th internationally, advancing four places and one place, respectively, on the latest Human Development Index (HDI). The Sultanate has scored 0.821 points overall and advanced four notches from the 52nd last year to 48th place. It moved one notch to rank fifth in the Arab region. Oman scored 77.3 points on the life expectancy at birth sub-index, 13.9 points on the expected years of schooling, 9.5 points on the mean years of schooling and 36,290 points on the gross national income per capital sub-index. — ONA
