SUHAR: The Ministry of Manpower on Tuesday launched the Sultanate’s celebrations to mark the Oman Environment Day, which falls on January 8. An event was organised on Tuesday by the Environment and Climate Affairs Administration in the Governorate of North Al Batinah at Majan Hall in the Wilayat of Suhar. The event was sponsored by Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said in the presence of Najeeb bin Ali al Rowas, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs, walis, members of the State Council, Majlis Ash’shura, officials and others. The event included poetry reading and Omani traditional songs, in addition to a presentation on the Sultanate’s efforts to conserve environment. An exhibition by public and private organisations on their role in preserving the environment was also opened. — ONA
