Oman bodybuilding team clinches 19 medals at the West Asia meet

MUSCAT, May 6 – Oman national bodybuilding team recorded a crucial show as they bagged 19 medals at the West Asia bodybuilding and physique championship, which concluded in Bahrain on Saturday. The Oman team clinched 11 gold medals, six silver medals and two bronze at the event. The Sultanate’s Said al Jabri won the overall championship title in the classic category with 168 metres height and bagged two gold medals.
Oman’s Ali al Sharji claimed the overall winner with 174 metres at the physique category.
In the 170 metres height category, Omani Ahmed al Harthi was the gold medal winner while his team-mate Ali al Harthi pocketed the yellow metal in the 178 metres at the physique category.
Abdullah al Sharfi bagged the gold medal in the 176 metres heights in the physique category.
Ghanim al Mamri won silver medal in the under 170 metre heights while Munthader al Kushri gained bronze medal in under 176 metre heights at same physique category.
In bodybuilding classic category, Mohammed al Siyabi managed to clinch the gold medal in 168 metre heights while Essa al Shehi bagged silver in 168 metre heights at classic bodybuilding category.
Zakriya al Balushi claimed silver medal in 180 metre heights at same category.
In the second day of the championship, Mazin al Rahbi managed to win two gold medals and overall championship in 80 kg category. Belarab al Salami claimed another gold medal for the Oman national bodybuilding team as he won in the 100 kg category.
Yousef al Hinai won silver medal in 90 kg category while Ashraf al yusufi bagged silver medal in 60 kg category.
Sami al Fazari clinched silver medal in 65 kg category while Mohammed al Ajmi won bronze medal in 90 kg category. Oman bodybuilding national team had recently completed their participation in Asian bodybuilding and physique championship in Mongolia. They won five medals.
