Oman, Bahrain keen on widening cooperation

MUSCAT: Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council, received at the Council’s office, Abdullah bin Khalaf al Dossari, Bahrain Council of Representatives’ Council’s Secretary-General, and his accompanying delegation today.


The talks, were held in the presence of Dr Khalid bin Salim al Saeedi, Secretary-General of the State Council, and Shaikh Ali bin Nasser al Mahrouqi, Majlis Ash’shura Secretary General.


They discussed the strong ties binding both countries and ways of boosting bilateral cooperation to achieve the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.


They expressed satisfaction with the advanced level of Omani-Bahraini relations, underlining keenness on more cooperation in various fields. They also discussed regional and international developments, stressing the need to maintain global peace and security.


The talks touched on various cooperation aspects between the two brotherly countries, including bilateral relations and ways to enhance them.


Dr Al Mantheri hailed the brotherly Oman-Bahraini relations, with their historical and social dimensions.


He highlighted the important role played by Gulf Parliaments in enhancing relations between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and pushing them to greater horizons, noting the importance of mutual visits in strengthening bilateral relations and deepening cooperation in all fields, especially parliamentary.


These visits to achieve their desired goals.


Dr Al Mantheri referred to the Shura march in the Sultanate and cooperation and coordination between the State Council and Shura Council to maximize their achievements.


He expressed belief that the delegation’s visit to the Sultanate would lead to a further promotion and development of close bonds for the common interest of both sides.
