Muscat: Oman's Public prosecution has assured of justice to the mother of Ruwaida Abdel Aziz, a Tunisian expat woman who lost her life in a run over incident recently.

The prosecution said that the accused is in custody and will be brought before the court as soon as the investigations are completed and that justice will be carried out as prescribed by the law.

Background:

An Arab expatriate woman was run over by a woman over an argument. The woman was arrested by the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

According to the Directorate General of Inquiries & Criminal Investigations, both the victim and the accused were attending a birthday party at a farm in the Al Rumais area of Barka Wilayat when an argument ensued between the two.

Following the squabble, the accused is said to have stormed out of the venue. She was pursued by the Arab expatriate woman in the hope of pacifying her. However, boiling with rage, the accused reportedly ran over the woman with her vehicle several times.

She was declared dead on arrival at a local hospital. Apart from the accused, police also detained some guests at the party pending investigations.
