Oman at Arab Parliament meet

CAIRO: The second annual meeting of Arab Parliament and speakers of Arab parliaments and councils began on Saturday at the Arab League headquarters. The Sultanate is represented by a delegation from Majlis Ash’shura led by Shaikh Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali beside another delegation representing the State Council and led by Dr Shaikh Al Khattab bin Ghalib al Hinai, Deputy Chairman of the State Council. The meeting is aimed at fostering relations between the Arab Parliament and councils and parliaments of the Arab countries, unifying the attitudes towards the strategic issues of the Arab world and enabling the Arab parliaments to represent their peoples in the joint Arab work system. The meeting discusses exceptional situations suffered by the Arab world due to the growing phenomenon of terrorism and foreign interference as well as atrocities being inflicted on the Palestinians due to Israeli occupation. — ONA
