Qatar Airways is ferrying its stranded passengers from Jeddah to Muscat on three chartered Oman Air flights, said a statement from the airline. Oman Air confirmed it had allocated three aircraft for Qatar Airways’s Jeddah-Muscat route. It will also be flying bigger aircraft on Muscat-Doha and Muscat-Jeddah sectors. A connecting Qatar Airways flight will ferry passengers onward from Muscat to Doha.

WY3502 left Jeddah for Muscat at 4 pm local time on Tuesday. WY3506 is likely to leave Jeddah at 10 pm local time and WY3504 at 11 pm.

The airline urged its passengers to report directly at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah three hours prior to the departure so they can register and be allowed into the flight.

Qatar Airways had earlier announced the suspension of all flights to Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt.

“All customers booked on affected flights will be provided with alternative options, including the option of a full refund on any unused tickets and free rebooking to the nearest alternative Qatar Airways network destination,” it said.

The airline said passengers holding a confirmed Qatar Airways ticket to any of the four countries between June 5 and July 6 are permitted to rebook their flights up to 30 days from their current departure date.

Qatar Airways said its offices will continue to operate as normal in affected countries until further notice.

The airline also said transiting via Doha to Europe and the Americas will be not affected.

Gulf Air has also announced the suspension of its daily services between Bahrain and Doha.

“A dedicated customer services team from the Gulf Air 24-hour Worldwide Contact Centre has been set up and is contacting the affected passengers to offer alternative options, including full refund on unused tickets and free rebooking to the nearest alternate Gulf Air destinations,” the airline said.
