MUSCAT: The Omani Journalists Association (OJA) organised on Wednesday a workshop titled ‘Women’s Rights Awareness, Opportunities and Challenges’ under the patronage of Shaikha Aisha bint Khalfan al Siyabiyah, Chairperson of the Public Authority for Craft Industries (PACI). The workshop presented an overview on women’s rights in the Omani local laws and a reading on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). The workshop included two panel discussions, the first one was about the reality of the Omani women in the local laws and international conventions, while the second one dealt with the role of media in addressing women issues.
