MUSCAT: Oman Investment and Finance Company (OIFC), an integrated customer service solutions company that facilitates meter reading and bill payment for utility services including electricity, water and telecommunication, has launched Khedmah, a state-of-the-art smartphone application that can be used to pay utility bills and recharge prepaid telecom accounts. The app has been launched as part of the company’s efforts aimed at developing and enhancing the quality of its customer services using modern technology.

The feature-rich app offers a range of options and tools that allow customers to view and pay their electricity, water and telecom bills in an easy, convenient and secure manner. The Khedmah app works on both android and iOS platforms. The number of “Khedma” users reached 33,000 during the trial period before launching, and is getting increasingly popular among customers, as it is highly user friendly and saves considerable time and effort with regard to bill payments. Customers can recharge and top-up prepaid telecom accounts of Omantel, Ooredoo, Renna and Friendi, using the application.

Launching the Khedmah app, Said Ahmed Safrar (pictured), the CEO of OIFC, said, “The Khedmah app has been developed to help customers by offering a one-stop solution for all their bill payment requirements. They can view and pay their electricity, water and telecom bills from MEDC (Muscat Electricity Distribution Co.) and PAEW (Public Authority for Electricity and Water) for the Muscat governorate, in the easiest and fastest way possible.

Khedmah also allows payment of postpaid telecom bills from Omantel and Ooredoo conveniently. The company also has a plan of extending such payment facility for all electricity and water accounts across the Sultanate.” The app is e-connected with all the local banks, and providers of electricity, water and telecommunications services through OIFC’s central database. All the e-payments are highly secure as they are done through the fool-proof security system provided by banks in the Sultanate. The Khedmah application reflects the company’s vision to always keep up with the technological developments so as to enhance its customer services.
