Muscat, FEB 3 - Occidental Oman co-sponsored and participated in the two-day launch event of the “Oman Vision 2040”, showcasing the Sultanate’s recent accomplishments and discussing the main directions of the Vision 2040.
Vicki Hollub, President and CEO of Occidental Petroleum Corporation, attended the event and presented as a speaker on the panel titled, “The Private Sector’s Role in Realizing the Vision”. Ken Dillon, President of International Oil and Gas Operations at Occidental Petroleum; Sandy Lowe, Executive Vice-President and Group Chairman, Middle East, at Occidental Petroleum; and Stephen Kelly, President and General Manager of Occidental Oman, attended the event as representatives.
“Occidental Petroleum’s operations in Oman represent a successful endeavour in the private sector, that regards long-term sustainable development as vital to its growth in the Sultanate,” said Vicki Hollub.
“We are proud to contribute to the Omani economy, and to the Omani energy industry through our growing oil and gas operations, as well as the development and deployment of innovative technologies that can reduce and avoid greenhouse gas emissions that are both sustainable and financially successful.
The 2040 vision aligns perfectly with this migration towards diversified and cleaner sources of energy. Occidental is extremely proud to be a partner of the Government of Oman in achieving this vision of a more environmentally sustainable and diversified economy that is less reliant on fossil fuels to support robust development well into the future.” “We look towards Oman Vision 2040 as a means to reaffirm Occidental’s core commitments to our operations in the Sultanate,” said Steve Kelly.
“Occidental Oman is dedicated to the training and development of future Omani leaders in the energy industry. Similarly, our In-Country Value strategy, which supports a Royal directive by His Majesty, continues to target the advancement of Omani businesses and partnerships. In addition, we look forward to furthering our social responsibility initiatives, and investing in programmes that value innovation and sustainable development in our local communities.”
