OBC wins membership of FTTH Mena

TUNIS: Oman Broadband Company (OBC) has won the membership of Fibre to the Home Council Middle East & North Africa (FTTH MENA). The announcement came on the sidelines of FTTH MENA conference currently held in Tunisia. OBC was represented at the conference by Badr bin Saud al Zaidi, Director General of Network and Technology Planning and member of the FTTH MENA. The FFTH MENA is a non-profit organisation and was established in 2011. It aims at accelerating and approving the standards, specifications and statistics for the FTTH projects in the region. Oman Broadband Company aims to cover 85 per cent of Muscat governorate and 30 per cent of the Sultanate’s area in general with high speed broadband network by 2020. OBC will announce by the year end, future details of the broadband projects for 2018. — ONA
