OBC signs 3 contracts to provide high-speed fibre optic network

MUSCAT: Oman Broadband Company (OBC) signed three contracts with real estate developers in the Governorate of Muscat regarding the provision of high-speed fibre optic networks at construction sites. The agreement was signed by Said bin Abdullah al Mantheri, CEO of OBC, Abdul Rahman bin Awad Barham, CEO of al Madina Real Estate Company, Fahd al Ismaili, Founder and CEO of Tibian Real Estate Company and General Manager of Project Development in Muscat Oasis. Said bin Abdullah al Mantheri, CEO of OBC said that these contracts complement the previous contracts signed with real estate developers in and around the Governorate of Muscat in order to equip the residential units in Muscat with the infrastructure of communications so that they are ready to form smart cities.


He said to ONA that the company targeted developers because they represent a large part of the partnership in the preparation of this infrastructure for communications and placed within their plans in the planning and therefore these contracts are a joint cooperation with all developers of residential units to include high-speed Internet in all buildings so that to be ready for smart applications in the future. He added that the Oman Broadband Company will through the contracts provide fibre optics within the real estate buildings that these developers build to be equipped with smart applications now and in the future. — ONA
