MUSCAT: Heavy rain fell on Saturday in northern parts of Oman, causing flooding across roads and wadis. In an advisory, the Oman meteorology department had warned people to be cautious. In Muscat, dust storm and slight drizzle lowered visibility in some areas of the city. Parts of the northern governorates experienced heavy rain with hail and fresh wind at times. On Thursday, weather forecasters had predicted showers, strong winds, hail and floods for three days beginning on Friday. The National Early Warning Centre at the Directorate-General of Meteorology predicted a low depression over several parts of the Sultanate this weekend accompanied by strong winds, showers and hail.
