No meddling in US election: Putin

MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin denied as the Group of 20 leading economies summit ended that Russia interfered in the US presidential election.
“There is no reason to consider that Russia interfered in the electoral process in the US,” Putin said in comments carried by the Interfax news agency. “We did not interfere.”
Putin said he thought his US counterpart Donald Trump had been satisfied with his assertions that Russia had not meddled in the US election.
Speaking at the end of a G20 summit in Germany where the two leaders met face-to-face for the first time, Putin said he believed he had been able to establish a personal relationship with Trump. — dpa
