By Vinod Nair — MUSCAT: Jan 18 - The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs on Tuesday issued a circular to ensure adequate security provisions while designing new mosques across Oman. The statement has laid out guidelines, including technical specifications, for consultants, Directorate-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs and other relevant parties. It said the provisions include a room of a specific size for surveillance along with facilities for servers and monitors, which should be mentioned in the electrical maps of the new project. The ministry said the camera surveillance (CCTV) should cover all parking spaces, entry/exit points for vehicles, main entrance and inside the premises. Cameras installed in control rooms and four corners of the mosque should be as per standard specifications.
