MUSCAT, MARCH 6 -

Hilal bin Hamad al Hasani, CEO of PEIE, yesterday laid the foundation stone of a new Facility Building in Suhar Industrial Estate.

The project is implemented by the investment arm of PEIE — Shumookh Investment and Services Company — through its subsidiary Oasis Development Company. The building is being built at a cost of RO 4.5 million and will provide around 10,000 sq metres of leasable space.

The facility will provide banking, restaurant, air travel and other services to workers in Suhar Industrial Estate and the surrounding areas. The building will also offer office space for government and private institutions, and telecom companies.

A similar building was inaugurated in February 2016 at Knowledge Oasis Muscat, while work is underway to develop Facility Buildings in Rusayl Industrial Estate and Samayil Industrial Estate.

Meanwhile, Phase One of the Al Raha Village project in Suhar Industrial Estate is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2018. Al Raha Village is a township project that has been specifically designed to offer high living standards in line with international standards. Al Raha Village aims at meeting the staff lodging needs of companies operating in Suhar Industrial Estate and surrounding areas.

Al Raha Village is situated on a total land plot of about 56,000 sq m. Covering an areas of 108,000 sq metres, its 25 buildings will be able to accommodate around 12,000 workers. Phase one of the project will comprise 10 buildings accommodating around 4,000 employees.
