New Dubai-Muscat bus route offers cheaper option for air travelers

Muscat, Jan 28 - Mwasalat and Road Transport Authority (RTA) launched the new routes between Muscat and Dubai, for which an agreement was signed on Monday.
The agreement was signed between Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO, RTA and Ahmed bin Ali al Bulushi CEO, Mwasalat. The new stops in Dubai at Abu Hail, Airport Terminal 2 and Rashidiya metro stations will offer airline passengers from Muscat easy connectivity to Dubai Airport and other areas. “Dubai-Muscat bus services have been operational for many years but these new routes offer easy and cheaper access to metro station for passengers at affordable levels,” said Ravi Mathews, who frequently travels to the Far East and Australia via Dubai. One-way air ticket to Dubai from Muscat will cost between RO 39 and RO 58 as against RO 5.5 for a six-hour journey bus ride. There will be three services a day (6.20am, 3.20pm, and 11.20pm) from Muscat with stops at Muscat International Airport, Burj al Sahwa, Maabela, Musannah, Suwaiq, Suhar and Shinas. One-way fares will cost RO 5.5 from Muscat, RO 2 from Wajajah and Shinas, RO 3 from Suhar and Saham, RO 3 from Khabourah, RO 4 from Suwaiq and RO 4.5 from Barka and Musannah.
The round-trip from Muscat to Dubai will cost RO 9.From Dubai, the route will start at Abu Hail Bus Station, and the one-way ticket will cost RO 5.75.
