New air cargo terminal to operate from March 19

The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) said that the air cargo terminal of the Muscat International Airport will be operational from 2pm on March 19.


Goods will be collected from the new cargo terminal on this date only, while the freight will continued to be delivered to the old cargo terminal until March 29, after which all operations will be limited to the new building.



MoTC, in coordination with the Oman Aviation Services Company (OASC) – a subsidiary of Oman Air Group, and all aviation stakeholders, is making all efforts for the smooth transisition of operations to the new cargo terminal in next to the new passenger terminal.


Dr Mohammed bin Nasser al Zaabi, CEO, PACA, and the chief supervisor of the technical committee for the follow-up of the airport projects, said that the construction work of the new air cargo building has been completed and the testing of some technical equipment is carried out by the operational readiness of the new Muscat International Airport project.
