MUSCAT: Neptah from Hafs bin Rashid School will represent the Sultanate in the regional competition of Injaz Al Arab in the Arab world. This was announced by Injaz Oman after evaluating the results of the Student Company Programme and Competition. The school was also named the Best Student Company for the school category in 2018. For 2018, Mlahba from the Nuseiba bint Kaab School won the award for the best marketing plan, and Re.zero from the Dohat Al Adab School won the best innovative product award. The programme is brought this year with the support of BP Oman.

The Student Company Programme and Competition aims to build Omani youth at secondary level from various schools in the Sultanate, helping them to discover their ambition and professional tendencies, and to establish and manage leading companies. The programme develops skills that enrich the students’ academic performance and support their positive behaviour, helping them to explore their ambitions and opportunities in the various labour markets, in addition to their access to future opportunities in entrepreneurship.

The competition was attended by 10 student companies founded by students of five secondary schools in the Sultanate. The Imam Al Muhanna bin Sultan School participated with Shining and Rubber companies, the Imam Jaber bin Zaid School with HT High Technology Tools and The Golden Table, the Hafs bin Rashid School with the participation of Line Style and Neptah companies, the Nuseiba bint Kaab School with Mlahba and Licler companies, and the Dohat Al Adab School with the participation of Re.zero and Vita.

The company’s six-month programme provided a unique learning experience for the students on how to set up private companies and take the lead in supporting and supervising consultants and volunteers in the field of entrepreneurship, thus motivating students to enter the world of entrepreneurship and supporting future economic development. Khaula bint Hamoud al Harthy, Executive Director of Injaz Oman, said: “We are very excited about this year’s student companies and congratulate all the participating companies. We hope that this year’s edition will have a positive impact on the students.”
