His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, hosted an official dinner in honour of Sher Bahadur Deuba, Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Nepal and his accompanying delegation at the Shangri-La Hotel in Barr Al Jissah Resort on Monday. A number of their highnesses, ministers, chairman of the State Council, advisers, senior officials of the State and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the Sultanate attended the dinner. Prime Minister Deuba on Tuesday visited the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the National Museum and the Royal Opera House Muscat during his visit to the Sultanate.
During his visit to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, he was briefed on the Omani and Islamic unique architectural designs of the mosque. He also visited the centres of the mosque, such as the Islamic Sciences Institute, the library, lecture halls and various utilities. During his visit to the National Museum, the Nepalese Prime Minister was briefed on the museum, which was built on an area of 13,700 square metres. It includes 14 halls built on an area of 4000 square metres.
It contains approximately 5,500 archaeological collectables in the halls of the Earth, Man, Maritime History, Weapons, Civilisation, Aflaj Prehistory, Oman and the Outside World, Greatness of Islam, Renaissance and Intangible Heritage. The Nepalese guest also visited the Royal Opera House Muscat. He also reviewed the events to be hosted by the Opera in the forthcoming stage. He was briefed on the Arab and Islamic architecture of the house, which also includes a market for fine arts and crafts products. — ONA
