Nepal Embassy hosts free health awareness camp

MUSCAT: The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat organised a free health camp for awareness, initial screening and check-up for breast cancer at Al Mara land, Qurum Garden, on December 29 in association with Oman Cancer Association and Barakath Alnoor Clinic.


Around 75 Nepali women benefited through free health camp and nearly 30 males from free blood sugar test, blood pressure and BMI measurement. Around 40 Nepali males from various Nepali social organisations volunteered for the free health camp.


Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, Ambasadorof Nepal to the Sultanate, lighted the traditional lamp to launch the programme. Also in attendance were Yuthar Al Rawahy, founder and honorary life president of Oman Cancer Association (OCA), Dr Wahid Ali Al Kharusi, President of Oman Cancer Association, Bimal Dhakal and Dr Rajyashree Naraayan Kutty, Surgeon, Barakhath Alnoor Clinic.


Sarmila explained about the Embassy’s upcoming programmes regarding celebration of the 41st anniversary of the establishment of Nepal-Oman diplomatic relations. D B Chhetri, Secretary of Non-Resident Nepali Association appreciated the various activities of the Embassy towards community welfare.


Nisha Sunuwar from Mahila Samuha Oman, Shalu Gurung and Ashish Gurung from Tamu Samaj Oman performed folk Nepali dances in the programme.
