SINGAPORE: The second cohort of participants in the National CEO Program (NCP) completed their educational journey in Singapore, which focused on multi-culture management issues, factors of creating successful innovation, and to identify opportunities arising from trends and changes in China and the emerging markets in Southeast Asia. Around 35 participants learnt about the latest digital technologies, and how innovation and technology can change the pace and nature of work in key economic sectors to the future of the Sultanate.

They familiarised with the evolution of economic and social developments in Singapore, since its independence 50 years ago, in addition to acquainting with the similarities and differences in the developmental process between Singapore and Oman. The participants in the NCP had the opportunity to identify the opportunities for integration and cooperation between the public and private sectors from a Singapore’s perspective by attending several meetings held by the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.

Prof Michael Wade, Program Director in the NCP, Specialist in Innovation and Strategy Cisco Chair in Digital Business Transformation, and In-Charge of the Digital Transformation of the Business Sector at the International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland, presented lectures on required organisational characteristics for clever innovations, application of strategies, and outstanding implementation within the institutional performance. The participants in the NCP contribute to the achievement of a series of important strategic projects for five focal sectors to diversify the Omani economy, namely agriculture, logistics, tourism, mining, and renewable energy. The participants visited the ship “Jewel of Muscat” that was gifted by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos to the people of Singapore. — ONA
