NBC inks deal to back Omani catering start-up

By Business Reporter — MUSCAT: April 22 - National Business Centre (NBC), which is part of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), has signed an incubation agreement with Achievement for Limited Projects (Azima Catering). The agreement was signed between Malak al Shaibani, Director-General of NBC, and Salma Noor al Balushi of Achievement for Limited Projects. Azima Catering, which specialises in catering services, was established in May 2011 and is registered with the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Public Authority for Social Insurance, and Tender Board.


The company enjoys a fully established modern kitchen with an experienced international team to gather recipes and ideas from across the world. Salma al Balushi pointed out that in addition to its main location and kitchen, the company today has six cafes distributed in the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM 4 and Facility Building), headquarters of Omantel (Mawaleh), Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Education.


Through this agreement, the company will enjoy a marketing office at the National Business Centre in KOM, which shall represent the company and enhance its presence on social media channels. NBC is an initiative launched by PEIE at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) to offer promising Omani entrepreneurs a platform to develop their business ideas and advance them into growing ventures. The centre offers a premier platform to Omani entrepreneurs by providing business development support and guidance, training and mentoring, access to markets and industry experts, and state-of-the-art and fully equipped office space, meeting rooms and presentation facilities.
