Nama Group fetes power sector’s top performers

MUSCAT, SEPT 16 - Nama Group, the holding company of state-owned power generation, transmission, distribution and supply utilities’, handed out performance awards to a number of companies and individuals at the conclusion of the Musharaka 2017 forum on Thursday.


Speaking at the event, Omar al Wahaibi, CEO of Nama Group, said: “We conclude Musharaka 2017 today by honouring a number of companies and individuals that participated in Nama Group Awards, which included: Nama’s Award for Best Performing Company in Customer Service, Occupational Health and Safety, and Financial Performance, in addition to Nama Group’s employee awards which included: Best Employee and Junior Leader Awards.


Additionally, the Group launched Nama Group’s HSE Award for its contractors and suppliers to further promote and encourage the application of safe practices culture, in accordance with the best international and local standards among contractors.”


The winners are as follows: Best Employee Award — Sharifa al Barekia of Majan Electricity Company (1st Place), and Badr al Farsi of Nama Holding (2nd Place); Junior Leader Award — Fatima al Hosni of Majan Electricity Company (1st Place), Abdullah al Jabri of Majan Electricity Company (2nd Place), and Said al Dhabari of Oman Electricity Transmission Company (3rd Place); Best Performing Company Awards — Muscat Electricity Distribution Company (For Customer Service); MEDC and Dhofar Power Company (For Occupational Health and Safety) and Wadi Al Jizzi Power Company (For Financial Performance).
