Muscat, Oct 17 - As part of its efforts to improve services provided to customers, Mwasalat will be plying its buses on city routes until midnight from October 20. The city routes — Mabela-Ruwi, Ruwi-Muttrah, Muscat-Ruwi-Amerat and Ruwi-Wadi Kabir — will be available from 6 am to midnight.

The extended timings will help everyone to use public transport buses over a longer period of time. “The new move is based on public feedback for the need to extend the timings,” said the company.

Mwasalat operates seven routes in Muscat along with services to various governorates as well as a line connecting Dubai.

Mwasalat said it was working on a plan to replace the old buses and the process will be completed by end of this year.

It will help improve the company’s operations and encourage more people to use public transport.

The Ruwi-Mabelah route was the busiest in 2016 with more than 1,500,000 passengers travelling the stretch, followed by Ruwi-Wadi Kabeer route taken by more than 800,000 commuters.
