Muscat Science Fest holds Meditalk

Muscat, August 30 - The second edition of Meditalk, an interactive session on health-related topics, was organised here recently.


Muscat Science Fest, the science and technology arm of the Kerala wing, in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association Nedumbassery Chapter, organised the event.


Meditalk hosted an expert panel of 11 specialist doctors from Oman who presented a discourse on various health-related issues. They focused on health issues faced by children as well as the growing influence of “pseudoscience”.


More than 300 people who participated in the event raised queries on lifestyle diseases, cancer-related concerns, anxiety disorders as well as medical ethics.


Meditalk was inaugurated by Indian Social Club Chairman Dr Satish Nambiar. IMA Nedumbassery Chapter president Dr Paul and IMA Secretary Dr Nigel addressed the gathering and reiterated the importance of rationality and social commitment in the field of health and science.


The three-hour-long session was moderated by Dr Arif Ali, senior specialist ENT surgeon at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital.
