Muscat records 47.5°C at noon today

Muscat: The capital recorded a high temperature of 47.5 degrees Celsius around noon on Saturday, an official at Oman Meteorology confirmed to the Observer.

He said that the highest temperature in Muscat for tomorrow will be around 46.5 degrees Celsius, ‘but we can expect some drop to around mid-forties in the following days’.

The desert and mountainous areas are expected to have temperatures in the range of 48 to 49 degrees Celsius in the coming days.

Several areas like Khabourah, Rustaq, Ibri and Amerat, Nizwa and Sur recorded temperatures in the range of 46 to 48 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
