MUSCAT, JAN 24 -

Strategic Housing Group (SHG) will be developing the project alongside their local partners Sandan Development LLC, a highly reputed developer in Oman.

As part of their Middle East roll out programme, SHG believe Muscat to be an important city to develop such a facility given the current and future growth in higher education numbers.

The complex, “The Myriad, Muscat” will be constructed in close proximity to Sultan Qaboos University and other highly reputed education institutions. In addition to being a secure environment, it will be capable of hosting around 2,600 residents by 2019

The 1,550 bedrooms have been carefully designed with comfortable furnishings including study desks, smart storage as well as en suite facilities. The rooms will have a variety of configurations to suit all requirements, and will include single or multi occupancy across the complex.

Common areas have been cleverly optimised to cater to resident needs by shared trendy lounges and well-equipped modern kitchens on each floor. Those are envisaged for group study and socialising.

The complex will have a two-floor retail area that will serve both residents and other visitors. In addition to a supermarket and other retail stores, it will include a full-fledged fitness club, food outlets such as a food court and coffee shops.

The complex will have two levels of basement parking for both residents and visitors.

Comfort, convenience, safety and enjoyable ambience were amongst the main factors that were considered whist designing the complex. The architects carefully engineered the complex facade to blend into the local environment seamlessly considering the traditional surroundings. The Italian architectural firm Mandressi gmbh was appointed to design the buildings.

Appropriate and dedicated student housing is amongst the most important services that higher education students require particularly when they travel a fair distance to their place of study.

Statistics show that appropriate student housing not only helps students improve grades but also reduces drop out rates and enhances living experience.
