Public Authority for Civil Aviation has approved Iran’s Kish Air to operate one flight a week between Bandar Abbas and Muscat International Airport from August 7. Details are yet to be updated on the website of the Kish Air.

Kish Air also operates flights to the Iranian cities of Chabahar and Shiraz from Muscat, which were launched last year as part of the efforts to tap the increasing number of business and leisure travellers between the two countries.

Bandar Abbas in Iran is a port city and capital of Hormozgān Province on the southern coast of Iran and occupies a position on the Strait of Hormuz. It is also the capital and largest city of Bandar Abbas County.

Currently, Bandar Abbas is linked to Khasab in Oman through the ferry services operated by the National Ferries Company. The marine distance between both ports is 114 km.
