By Lakshmi Kothaneth — MUSCAT: Jan 17 - Musandam Governorate received scattered rainfall on Tuesday, just as the weatherman had forecast. More rains are expected in Musandam on Wednesday. Low clouds have been forecast for Wednesday in Musandam and the Oman Sea coastline. Low clouds will be associated with light to moderate rain along the same stretch. Muscat experienced low clouds on Tuesday, according to the Public Authority for Civil Aviation, which sees chances of rain on Friday and Saturday.

“The current trough is still dry. The next wave in the atmosphere is expected to be easterly, which would bring in more humidity that is conducive to rain,” said the Met office. Mainly clear skies are likely over rest of Oman with chances of cloud formation over Al Hajar Mountains towards afternoon. Early morning low-level clouds or patches of fog over governorates of Al Dakhiliyah and North Al Sharqiyah and southeastern coasts are expected. Light to moderate northeasterly winds will blow over Oman Sea, Arabian Sea and Musandam Governorates during the day and turn into light southeasterly winds during night along the Oman Sea coast.
