Muscat, Jan 31 -

The mountainous regions of the Sultanate are expected to see very low temperatures, at times even sub-zero levels, from Thursday to Saturday, according to the Met office.

The National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre of Public Authority for Civil Aviation attributes it to the trough of low pressure on these days.

The trough is expected to have an influence over Musandam Governorate, the coastal areas of Oman Sea and Al Hajar mountains. Isolated thundershowers are expected at times.

It is also expected to have its influence over the governorates of Musandam, Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Muscat, Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, North and South Al Sharqiyah.

Partly cloudy skies have been predicted over the governorates of Musandam, North Al Batinah and Al Buraimi with chance of isolated rain.

Clear skies are expected over most of the Sultanate with a chance of late night to early morning low-level clouds or fog over Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, South and North Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar and the coastal areas of Oman Sea.
