MUSCAT: The Ministry of Tourism has planned a number of events during Eid al Adha holidays in all governorates. On the second day of the festival, the Silver Jubilee Park at the Sohar Recreation Centre in the North Batinah governorate will host a cultural heritage festival from 4 pm to 9 pm. Al Dakhiliyah governorate will have an event “Ahlan bil Eid” (Welcome Eid) between second and fourth day of the festival at Izki Public Garden. Similarly, on second and third day of Eid al Adha, Rustaq in South Al Batinah will have a number of events. Various activities will also take place in Salalah from the second to the fourth day of Eid.
The town of Duraiz in wilayat Abri in Al Dhahirah will have heritage tourism festival on the second day of the Eid. On the third day of Eid, there will be events at Khasab Cultural and Sports Club in Musandam governorate. Events of the ‘Joy of Eid’ will be held in North Al Sharqiyah at equestrian ground of Al Yahmadi in wilayat of Ibra. There will also be recreational activities at the Lulu Centre of Ibra.
The Ministry of Tourism has also decided the dates for the visit of forts during the holidays of Eid al Adha. The forts of the Sultanate attract many tourists. The number of visitors of these forts reached to 170,543 by the end of June. They included 17,916 Omanis, 128,259 foreigners 1,372 Gulf nationals and 1,452 from other Arabs countries. Among them, the number of school students who visited these forts during this period was 13,492.
The Sultanate is a unique tourist destination due to its diverse elements, including exceptional weather in this period of the year, beautiful nature and heritage elements which are considered ideal during Eid al Adha holidays.
