April 30 – Mwasalat and Oman Oil Company (omanoil) signed an agreement to establish two solar-powered bus stops in Ghubra. Under the agreement, Oman Oil will have exclusive rights brand and advertise at the bus stops.

The agreement comes within the framework of Mwasalat's keenness to promote and develop the public transport sector, as well as to explore alternatives that contribute significantly to reducing reliance on government support for the public transport sector.

The stops will be located opposite Al Raffah Hospital and the opposite the Oman Oil filling after Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, both in Ghubra.

The agreement was signed by Ahmed bin Ali al Bulushi, CEO, Chief Mawasalat.

Mwasalat said it appreciates the cooperation of the private sector to support the development of public transport services.

The company’s efforts are aimed at providing facilities that help promote the use of public transport buses such as AC stops and other amenities.

In March, Mwasalat signed an agreement with Al Maha Marketing Company to set up solar-powered bus stops. Similar agreements were also signed between Omantel and Oman Avenues Mall in June 2017, bringing the number of AC bus stops in Muscat to six.
