Muscat: The Ministry of Manpower has called on the private firms to register the nationals working on part-time basis on the ministry’s website in order to benefit from the incentives provided by the ministry.
These incentives include the calculation of part-time jobs as part of the Omanisation rate for companies. The topic was discussed at a workshop organised at OCCI on Wednesday.
Ahmed bin Abdullah al Khunji, head of the part-time initiative team work at MoM, said that the initiative was rolled out at Tanfeedh and its implementation began in 2015. The registration is not compulsory, but the ministry is studying to make it mandatory in the next year, Al Khunji said, adding that there are only 560 registered part-time contracts, but this could have risen to 100,000 if the companies have committed to registering their part-time contracts.
