MUSCAT: The Ministry of Manpower held a meeting at its headquarters on Monday to discuss the implementation of the national programme for decent work between the Sultanate and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) for the coming period in the presence of representatives of the Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI), the Public Authority for Manpower Register (PAMR), Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), the General Federation of Oman Trade Unions (GFOTU) and social partners in the Sultanate.

The meeting comes as a continuation of the efforts of the ministry in the development of the Sultanate’s labour market system that will enable all concerned parties to overcome the future challenges facing the labour market.

Decent Work Programme aims to promote decent work as a fundamental element in national development strategies. It is the primary tool used by the ILO to execute their own agenda of decent work and providing support to states.
