MUSCAT: The 2nd edition of the Higher Education Institutions Exhibition (Educ8te) will be launched today, under the aegis of the Ministry of Higher Education. The exhibition is organised by Arabian Gate Expo, with the participation of 30 institutions.

Mohammed bin Abu Bakr al Ghassani, Deputy Chairman of Majlis Ash’shura, will patronise over the opening ceremony of the exhibition at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. The exhibition will last for three days from July 18 to 20.

The Higher Education Institutions Exhibition aims at providing the graduates of the General Education Diploma with the opportunity to learn more about services provided by higher education institutions in the Sultanate (universities, colleges and training institutes,) including the programmes, specialisations and general programmes. It gives them the opportunity to meet the officials of these institutions to learn more about the appropriate opportunities for them and to share knowledge, experiences, ideas and information.

The exhibition focuses on institutions that provide education services, such as universities and colleges in the Sultanate, as well as training programmes through institutes and training services offices. The exhibition also highlights entrepreneurship as an important goal to promote in the community through the participation of competent authorities.

A workshop will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition by the SME Development Fund within the framework of highlighting the importance of entrepreneurship and public awareness. The workshop will discuss a range of themes by introducing the basics of entrepreneurship, how to become leaders, activities to generate business ideas, preparing simplified businessplan and how to be skilled in presentation, as well as how to start your own business. — ONA
