Muscat: The Ministry of Health has recently noticed the increasing cases of trading and selling health and herbal medicines and formulations, promoted through social media.

These health and herbal medicines and formulations are being promoted by fake allegations centering that they are safe and natural herbal products and do not cause any health risks, which is contrary the clauses and provisions of the Regulating the Profession of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Establishments Law issued by the Royal Decree No 35/2015.

Most of these products are being analyzed and assessed to verify the contents, where most of the results show that they contain chemicals without making reference or mention within the formulation components.

This is considered as commercial fraud and exposes the promoter of these products to legal liability.

Therefore, the Ministry of Health urges all citizens and residents not to succumb to these products, stressing to purchase medications from the only licensed sources according to the medical instructions to ensure the health and safety of all. --ONA
