Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MOH) in cooperation with the Municipality of Muscat and other stakeholders is launching on Tuesday a campaign to eradicate the Aedes aegypti mosquitoes under the auspices Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Obaid al Saeedi, Minister of Health

The campaign is aimed at eradicating the recent detection of dengue cases in Muscat, which is attributed to the spread of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes.

MOH and Muscat Municipality have urged residents and citizens take part in the campaign that will be held from January 8-21.

It also urged to people take correct information from reliable sources and communicate with the contact centre of the Ministry of Health in the event of detection of any symptoms of the dengue or yellow fever.

The Aedes aegypti is found in urban areas, especially in man-made water tanks, MOH statement said.
