MoH holds Respiratory Care Training Programme

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Health (MoH), represented by the Directorate-General of Specialised Medical Care, organised on Sunday the 18th Respiratory Care Training Programme at the Royal Hospital main Auditorium with the presence of Dr Kadhim Jaffer Sulaiman, Director-General of Specialised Medical Care. Around 95 participants from the Sultanate’s different hospitals attended the 3-day training programme, which aimed at advancing the quality of care and life of respiratory patients by fully guiding the multidisciplinary teams within hospital environment to the different Respiratory Care Guidelines, Policies and Procedures.


For the three consecutive days, the training programme includes number of lectures presented by experts. Lectures range from the management of different types of ventilations, assessment to the manual resuscitators. In line with this training programme, a workshop on Respiratory Care will be held in May as a continuation of these basic lectures. The workshop will be a combination of basic lecture and full hands and practical sessions on the three Critical Care interventions namely the Non- Invasive Ventilation for Paediatrics, the Mechanical Ventilation and High Frequency Ventilation. Notably, the first Bachelor batch of Respiratory Care Specialty is expected to graduate soon.
