MoE holds students singing festival

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education on Tuesday held a students’ singing festival under the auspices of Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidy, Minister of Interior, at the ministry of education’s amphitheatre in Al Wattiyah in the presence of Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education. The event was attended by a number of ministers, under-secretaries, members of the State Council and Majlis Ash’shura, education officials and students.


The national students’ festival is aimed at strengthening the sense of loyalty and belonging to the nation and pride in the country’s past and present achievements and the leader who initiated its blessed Renaissance through the musical skills and literary creativity.


It is also aimed at sharpening the skills of students and enhancing their spirit of competition.


The ceremony began with the welcoming tableau, after which Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamdan al Toobi, Advisor to the Ministry of Education, delivered the speech of the ministry. In his speech Al Toobi said: “The National Student Song Festival themed ‘By Voice and Pen I Enhance my National Belonging’ has become one of the most prominent events in the march of education being one of the incubators that bring together talented


students.


The competitions allow the students to express themselves and their sense of patriotism and pride in the dear nation. The competition has come out with a multitude of promising skills that need to be honed and cared for.’

It is worth noting that the National Student Song Festival is organized by the Ministry of Education on an annual basis in accordance with the royal directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos to hold a national student Inshad festival.
