MUSCAT: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has stated that GCC Bureau of Technical Secretariat for Anti Injurious Practices in International Trade has approved starting an investigation against the imports of GCC countries of paper and paperboard from Spain, Italy and Poland (Kraft, Fluting or Testliner) which are not painted as rolls or cardboard, based on the complaint provided by the Gulf Industry to GCC Bureau of Technical Secretariat for Anti Injurious Practices in International Trade.

This case is based on the GCC Consolidated Anti-Dumping Act, Countervailing Duty and Preventive Measures (system) and its Executive Regulations promulgated by Royal Decree No 20/2015.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is asking Omani importers and manufacturers of these products according to (HS Code) to review Anti-Dumping Section in the Directorate-General of Organisations and Commercial Relations in the ministry’s main building within 10 days, to protect the interests of the involved parties from importers and manufacturers.

The ministry confirms its continuous work against harmful practices in international trade through using the agreements of anti-dumping, countervailing and preventive measures.
