MoCI receives 31,000 patent applications

MUSCAT: The Intellectual Property Department of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry pointed out that the number of local and international applications for trademarks, patents, author rights and industrial models in the Sultanate during the last year stood at 31,043. “This figure includes 30,410 applications of local and international trademarks for registering, renewing, transferring the usufruct right, amendment and proclamation, 391 applications for patents, 3,232 applications for international trademarks, 216 applications for author rights and 26 applications for industrial models,” said Ahmed bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Director of the Intellectual Property Department of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. — ONA
