MoCI issues GCC certificate of origin electronically

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has converted the issuance of GCC Certificate of Origin service to an e-service that is processed through ‘Invest Easy’ Portal. The move comes in a bid to facilitate procedures for the companies operating in this field and accelerate the extraction of certificate of origin without the need to visit the ministry’s head quarters. The move also provides investor-friendly environment and saves customers’ time and effort. This shift is an initial step for the products exported to GCC States. MoCI will issue the certificate of origin for products exports to other countries electronically. The ministry urged all commercial and industrial establishments to process the GCC certificate of origin electronically through ‘ Invest Easy Portal’ and attach the invoices for the exported goods to get the certificates at the same day. — ONA
