Ministry to ensure healthy, safe food

MUSCAT: Ahmed bin Abdullah al Shuhi, Minister of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources (MRMWR), said that the ministry is making endeavours to ensure providing healthy and safe food for consumers. He added that “Your Food Is Honesty” project is an electronic project for health control through Internet. He added that expansion and improvement of the quality management system started in 2012 and that the ministry is expanding the system and promoting it by applying the ISO 2015-9001. The expansion includes all departments, the ministry’s HQs and the directorates-general in all governorates. He affirmed that the ministry regularly provides food and water labs at the governorates with qualified human resources and modern devices to detect any pollutants or poison in food and water samples. — ONA
